Turkey Recipe

Happy New Year 2014!

To celebrate, I should post the turkey recipe that I made 2 years ago that was a hit.
My parents said they liked it and they're pretty picky eaters!

Rinse turkey with cold water
Prepare brine: in a pot, a gallon of water, a cup of garlic salt, 1 cup of honey
Once it cools, pour mixture into "garbage" bag with turkey
Put it in the fridge overnight.

Start at noon
Line pan with tin foil
Put breast side down (this is the trick that makes the turkey not dry!)
Rub garlic salt, paprika, and pepper
Tint aluminum foil
Bake 350F - 20 minutes/lbs (typically it's 3 or 4 hours)
Take tent off
Poke meat thermometer and it should be about 180F

Carve and serve it with gravy - McCormick's gravy mix is pretty good

For stuffing on the sie:
- boxed bread cubes
- chopped onion and celery - sautee in butter
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- salt, pepper (optional: sage), parseley
- bake in the oven 225F for 30 minutes (optional)
