The show was called Kamen Rider in Japanese, Ksatria Baja Hitam in Indonesian, and Black Masked Rider in English.
The obsession was for a man called Kotaro Minami (real name: Tetsuo Kurata).

I was crazy about him. He came to Indonesia once, but of course my mommy couldn't take me to see him.
I love this show!!! In Japan, it ran from 1987 - 1988. He was my knight in shining armour on a grasshopper motorcycle. The motorcycle has a great personality, he can talk to it and it will come to rescue him whenever he needs it, sort of like "KITT" in Knight Rider.
Ahh... the good old times...
